The Knoxville Chamber is pleased to announce Oglewood Avenue as the recipient of the Pinnacle Business Award in the Minority-Owned Business Excellence category. Oglewood Avenue is a modern houseplant boutique located in North Knoxville dedicated to building confidence in plant care. The Minority-Owned Business Excellence Award, sponsored by Accenture, is presented to an outstanding East Tennessee minority-owned business.

“Receiving the Pinnacle Business Award in Minority-Owned Business Excellence means everything to Oglewood Avenue and our small team,” said Jade Adams, founder and owner. “When we began during the pandemic, I would have never imagined the success and growth over the last two years. Knoxville, the plant community, and our maker city have shown our business immense support and we are so grateful for this opportunity. Thank you for the continued contribution and appreciation for Oglewood Avenue and for this outstanding award.”

Oglewood Avenue primarily sells indoor houseplants but also specializes in harder to find varieties, statement plants, and specimens that are unique and interesting. They continue to innovate by offering rotating plant selections that change weekly, planters and hard goods, workshop classes, fun events and markets, and educational seminars. Adams intends to expand Oglewood Avenue to more locations including Maryville and Alcoa soon. She also plans to offer services to the hospitality industry, reimagining plants as living decor.

“Jade helped so many find solace during a difficult time. We are excited to see her expand and adapt in the coming years,” said Mike Odom, Knoxville Chamber president and CEO. “I am thankful for the contributions being made by companies like Oglewood Avenue that continue to drive regional economic prosperity.”

The annual Pinnacle Business Awards, presented by Pinnacle Financial Partners, celebrate regional business excellence, honoring outstanding professionals in nine categories for their contributions to the greater Knoxville economy. Winners are selected by the Knoxville Chamber Board of Directors. Over 80 companies were nominated for 2023 recognition.

“Congratulations to all Pinnacle Business Award winners. When local businesses thrive, so do the communities they serve. That’s why Pinnacle Financial Partners set out to be a small business and commercial bank from the very beginning,” said Mike DiStefano, Pinnacle’s Knoxville president. “We know how hard it is to run a company, much less make it successful, and we’ll do everything we can to help build that success. It’s an honor to be part of this program and help recognize the home-grown players in Knoxville’s economy.”
