Knoxville Chamber Releases HireUp Knox Workforce Website

A website focused on Knoxville-area resources to help employers retain and grow their workforce, and aid individuals – including students – seeking career assistance is now available. HireUp Knox was created by the Knoxville Chamber to serve as a one-stop shop for businesses and individuals.

“This new site makes it easier for a variety of audiences – job seekers, educators, employers, and more – to find what they are looking for,” said Lauren Longmire, regional enhancement director for the Knoxville Chamber.

Job seekers will find training opportunities, recent job listings, service providers, and options for online learning. Employers will find resources including educational webinars, internship consulting services, and out-of-market recruitment tools. Parents and students can review occupation data and learn more about skilled trade options. Educators can get connected to career-themed curriculum and request speakers.

After an increased demand for a central location for local internships, the Chamber responded by purchasing KnoxvilleInternships.com, which points internship-seekers to the new site to view listings. It also gives the option for employers to submit internship listings at no cost. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the conversion rate for 2021-2022 interns was 57.6%.

“Internships are a great way to build a talent pipeline. This is the stage where we need employers to get involved, specifically with the internships portion of the site,” added Longmire.

“If you have openings, please submit them. We’re excited to have completed the first phase of the site and are now looking for feedback on what our stakeholders would like to see in future iterations. We intend for this to be continually evolving.”
