Knoxville Builds Better Community with Opening of the Tennova Family YMCA
Knoxville, TN — The North Knoxville community is about to get healthier in mind, body and spirit. On January 1, 2023 the Tennova Family YMCA will open its doors at 7540 Dannaher Drive Powell, TN 37849, with an official ribbon cutting ceremony on January 7th at 10am. On Saturday, the 7th, community members can tour the new facility, meet the staff, and sign up to become a Y member. Group exercise class demos will occur from 11am to 1pm with rock climbing, family swim, and pickleball available all day.
This newly renovated facility includes a 6-lane swimming pool, a warm water therapy pool, a climb wall, basketball court with pickleball, state of the art cardio equipment plus exciting new group exercise classes.
Jim Dickson, YMCA of East Tennessee’s CEO says he is excited to bring the Y’s mission to the greater North Knoxville and Powell community. “The Y is more than a place to work out — we’re a place of community. Of course, members will have access to new machines, our basketball court and swimming pool, but there will be so much more; we’ll be offering swim lessons and other youth programs. Tennova members will have access to all Knoxville locations plus Nationwide membership.

The Tennova Family YMCA is opening thanks to a partnership with the Tennova Healthcare System and the YMCA of East Tennessee board of directors.
