Hillcrest Healthcare hosted drive-through Halloween parades for Beverly Park Place, Island Home and West Hills residents with staff, families and community members decorating their cars.

Residents at the Hillcrest Healthcare communities enjoyed the Oct. 29-30 parade from windows and sidewalks, with many in Halloween costumes, masks included. Parade participants, staff and residents practiced social distancing throughout the event and held a car “costume” contest.

“Our residents loved seeing families and community members in costumes who showed how much they care with signs, honks and waves,” said Lavonda Cantrell, director of marketing and special projects for Hillcrest Healthcare. “Even though we were unable to host our traditional Halloween activities, the drive-through spook-tacular’ parade brought so much joy and laughter to residents.”

Participants met at Beverly Park Circle for the first parade, and then drove together to the Island Home community to continue the festivities. West Hills also hosted a parade for its residents.
