The Knoxville Chamber is pleased to announce Hallerin Hilton Hill as the recipient of the Pinnacle Business Award in the James A. Haslam, II Leadership Award category. Hill is widely- known as a radio personality featured on Cumulus’ News Talk 98.7. His television series, Anything is Possible, is currently on its twentieth season. The Haslam Leadership Award, sponsored by The Trust Company of Tennessee, is given to a long-standing business leader that exhibits strength in character, resolve, a commitment to the community, and exemplary success in the regional business community. Honorees are selected by the Chairman of the Knoxville Chamber Board.

“I’m humbled. I’m amazed. I’m grateful,” said Hill after he accepted his award. “Jim Haslam is a friend, a mentor, and he was an early adopter. His launchpad ‘yes’ the first time we met transformed everything. Sometimes in life you are one ‘yes’ away from believing your possibility. The right yes, from the right person, in the right way, helps you to realize that future ‘yeses’ are possible.”

Through his in-depth conversations with politicians, business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders, Hallerin has kept the community informed on business climate issues for the last three decades, beginning with his time as a reporter for WIVK.

“The Knoxville region is better because of Hallerin’s leadership and involvement,” said Wes Stowers, Chairman of the Chamber’s Board and CEO of Stowers Machinery Corporation. “Hallerin is more than deserving to join the ranks of previous award recipients including Jim Clayton, Randy Boyd, Dee Haslam, and most recently Phyllis Nichols.”

It’s hard to find a medium that hasn’t been touched by Hill. His philosophy to “grow and help others grow,” has made a lasting impression on those around him. When interviewed, most referenced Hallerin’s positive attitude and devotion to the Knoxville community.

“The first word that comes to mind when I think of Hallerin is optimism. We have so much negativity in the world today, and Hallerin takes a positive stance,” commented James A. Haslam, II. “There’s much more good going on than bad, and Hallerin emphasizes that. I would hope that my legacy, as the namesake for this award, would be one of giving, caring, and servant leadership. Hallerin embodies all three.”
