The Knoxville Chamber is pleased to announce Denark Construction as the recipient of the Pinnacle Business Award in the Impact category. Denark Construction is a full-service construction management firm committed to helping clients build distinctive and challenging projects. The Impact Award, sponsored by Verizon, is presented to a non-charitable business that displays a commitment to making East Tennessee a better place to live through the development and support of a community project or program.

“Denark has always maintained that giving back is an essential characteristic of our culture and a responsibility that we hold ourselves accountable for,” said Raja Jubran, CEO of Denark. “We are very grateful for this award; however, it would not have been possible without our outstanding team members and their efforts to make Knoxville and East Tennessee a better place to live, work, play and stay.”

Since its inception, Denark has proven to be a leader in corporate philanthropy and civic engagement. Over the past 10 years alone, Denark and its executive committee members have contributed an average of $500,000 per year to a variety of community organizations in East Tennessee. In addition to financial contributions, Denark team members are encouraged to volunteer their time and talents to causes including Knoxville Area Urban League “Shoes for School,” Habitat for Humanity, Young-Williams Animal Center “Barkitecture,” Salvation Army, and YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center.

“Denark has been leading the way for decades when it comes to community involvement. I hope their example inspires other organizations to do the same,” said Mike Odom, Knoxville Chamber president and CEO. “Working together for the greater good is an important component in driving regional economic prosperity.”

The annual Pinnacle Business Awards, presented by Pinnacle Financial Partners, celebrate regional business excellence, honoring outstanding professionals in nine categories for their contributions to the greater Knoxville economy. Winners are selected by the Knoxville Chamber Board of Directors. Over 80 companies were nominated for 2023 recognition.

“Congratulations to all Pinnacle Business Award winners. When local businesses thrive, so do the communities they serve. That’s why Pinnacle Financial Partners set out to be a small business and commercial bank from the very beginning,” said Mike DiStefano, Pinnacle’s Knoxville president. “We know how hard it is to run a company, much less make it successful, and we’ll do everything we can to help build that success. It’s an honor to be part of this program and help recognize the home-grown players in Knoxville’s economy.”
