Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon to announce race weekend activities

On Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m., the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon will host a press conference to highlight the upcoming marathon festivities and overview what’s new for 2021.

The press conference will be held in downtown Knoxville at World’s Fair Park, the site for the finish line for all races.

The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon is the largest competitive road race in East Tennessee and hosts six different running events over two days. The entire weekend of races and events will take place Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2-3.

Visuals: Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon will join Covenant Health CEO Jim VanderSteeg; Missy Kane, former Olympian and Covenant Health fitness expert; and Jason Altman, Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon race director, at the press conference. Race officials will be available for interviews.

Directions: The press conference will be held on the lawn at World’s Fair Park. In case of inclement weather, the news conference will move inside the World’s Fair Exhibition Hall.
