The Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon needs volunteers to help package and distribute race packets for November’s nine-day virtual race event.

Prioritizing community health and safety, the 16th annual Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon events are moving to a virtual format to avoid the potential spread of COVID-19 and allow runners to safely participate while achieving their personal goals in 2020.

Even though the race will be virtual Nov. 7-15, volunteers are needed Nov. 2-8 to help prepare and distribute thousands of race packets for runners with their bibs, shirts, medals and other materials as applicable per their registered race event.

“While we can’t gather all together for race day, we still need help from the community to make the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon events run smoothly and support the participants preparing to walk, jog or run their race in a virtual format,” said Jason Altman, race director for Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon. “We look forward to joining our community in spirit and making the race experience a success for everyone, and we know the Volunteer Spirit in Knoxville will help us achieve this goal.”

All volunteers will be required to wear masks, undergo no-contact temperature checks, regularly wash and sanitize their hands and practice social distancing.

Volunteers can complete online registration at knoxvillemarathon.com/volunteers-spectators and choose a day and time that best works for their schedules.
