Family Storytime and Blackberry Picking

Join us for a sweet summertime adventure at Seven Islands! We’ll start with a family-friendly story about blackberry picking, then head out on a short hike to find wild blackberries growing along the upland trails. Along the way, we’ll talk about where blackberries grow, how they benefit wildlife, and how you can enjoy them responsibly. You’ll get to pick blackberries — plus, we’ll send you home with a simple and delicious recipe for Blackberry Fool to try!
This program is recommended for families with children. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 9:00 AM. Be prepared to walk 1–2 miles on unpaved trails with moderate hills. Strollers are not recommended due to uneven surfaces. For more information about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
This program is $8.00 per family and recommended for ages 5 and up.
Please bring your own bowls or baskets for picking. Wear long pants and sturdy shoes to protect against thorns, and don’t forget bug spray, sunscreen, and water.
