The Knoxville Chamber is pleased to announce Axle Logistics as the recipient of the Pinnacle Business Award in the Impact category. Axle Logistics is a third-party logistics company with a focus on facilitating safe, reliable, advanced logistics services to a wide variety of customers throughout the continental U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The Impact Award, sponsored by Epic Nine Marketing Outfitters, is presented to a non-charitable business that displays a commitment to making East Tennessee a better place to live through the development and support of a community project or program.

“Jon Clay and Drew Johnson, our founders, are Knoxville natives. They also both went to the University of Tennessee. It has always been important to them since the beginning of Axle to give back to this community that has given so much to them,” said Megan Goodman, engagement manager for Axle Logistics. “It is our belief that positive culture, like a ripple effect, produces positive outcomes.”

Last year, Axle’s philanthropic budget was nearly one million dollars and is continuing to climb. In addition to funding, Axle contributes their time. Axle has contributed resources to expand facilities and fulfill critical community needs, while also supporting various endeavors for Knoxville’s healthcare and education providers such as UT Medical Center, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, American Heart Association, Knox County Schools, and the University of Tennessee.

“We have all been so impressed with Axle’s growth in the Knoxville community in such a short time,” said Mike Odom, Knoxville Chamber president and CEO. “But it isn’t just their size and revenue that is growing. It is their impact on our community. So many local organizations have been empowered to do great things because of Axle’s support.”

The annual Pinnacle Business Awards, presented by Pinnacle Financial Partners, celebrate regional business excellence, honoring outstanding professionals in nine categories for their contributions to the greater Knoxville economy. Winners are selected by the Knoxville Chamber Board of Directors. Nearly 200 companies were nominated for 2024 recognition.

“Congratulations to all Pinnacle Business Award winners. Local businesses are essential to the communities they help grow,” said Mike DiStefano, Pinnacle’s Knoxville president. “Pinnacle Financial Partners is a founder led firm that was built as a small business bank, so we know how difficult it can be to run a successful business. More than two decades of growth have allowed us to serve clients of increasing size, but small businesses remain essential both to Pinnacle and the Knoxville communities they help grow. It’s an honor to be part of this program and help recognize the home-grown players in Knoxville’s economy.”
