Team Accountant

The Knoxville Chamber is seeking a Team Accountant who will provide administrative and financial support services to the organization. The position works closely with other Chamber team members and Chamber partners. The Team Accountant is responsible for financial reporting, audit and budget support, GL account reconciliations, monthly billings, payables, and supporting the monthly close process.

Job type: Full-time | Regular | 37.5+ hrs/wk | Exempt

 

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Print monthly investor invoices and statements
  • Reconcile bank accounts for Chamber and related partner entities
  • Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to financial procedures
  • Maintain Chamber fixed asset and prepaid schedules and prepare monthly journal entries
  • Reconcile General Ledger balance sheet accounts
  • Participate in monthly close process including reconciliations, journal entries, and preparing metrics for management
  • Record / prepare monthly Finance Committee meeting minutes
  • Upload Budget and Best Available Estimate (BAE) into software
  • Assist with the annual budget and audit

 

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business discipline
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles, preferably with a non-profit organization
  • Experience with creating financial statements

 

Technical skills needed:
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency
  • Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of data
  • Experience with accounting software, such as Intacct, is a plus
