Cost of Living Redefined

Knoxville offers one of the nation’s lowest costs of living, coming in 17.8% below the national average and placing eighth in the 2019 Livability rankings of most affordable places to live. Compared to other Southeast locations, Knoxville has the lowest cost of living in most categories:

Education Redefined

Advance your skilled workforce! Select new talent or further the development of your team with graduates from one of the 23 higher education institutions located in the Knoxville region. Knoxville not only offers an excellent quality of life and vibrant economy, it’s also an exceptional place to learn:

Adventure Redefined

Sheltered by the peaks of the nation’s most-visited national park, the Knoxville region offers adventure seekers two national forests, nine state parks, more than 1,000 square miles of waterways, plus an Urban Wilderness located just three miles from Downtown.

Popular water sports including fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, water skiing, and sailing can all be enjoyed on the local waterways. Runners, walkers, and cyclists have access to more than 115 miles of trails, loops, and greenways. There are nearly 20 miles of paved greenways and tracks within Knox County that offer various distances and topographies.

Housing Redefined

Knox County is the third highest populated county in the state of Tennessee. Whereas Davidson and Shelby counties have upwards of 1,200 residents per square mile, Knox County has less than 900. Meaning that while we are home to many, there is room to spread out. That is likely why Knoxville is known for its big city benefits and small-town feel.

New businesses locating to the area can take advantage of resources provided by our corporate relocation service providers: Coldwell Banker Wallace and Realty Executives.

Nightlife Redefined

From an actual speakeasy to a rooftop bar filled with flamingos, Knoxville has a variety of nightlife locations for you to get acquainted with our city. We are also home to a quickly-growing brewery scene. As one USA Today reporter put it: forget Nashville, Knoxville is home to the best Tennessee nightlife.

Arts & Culture Redefined

From festival-laden streets to music-filled stages and captivating performances, creativity is steeped into the fabric of the valley. The arts gained an even greater foothold in 2016 when Knoxville was designated as the first Etsy Maker City in the United States.

“As a small business we have a lasting impression of how Knoxville makes us feel. It is an unpretentious and lovely place where big and little things are discovered, created, rooted, and grown. …this region has a vision to build a place where anyone can come find and discover anything they may want by being a customer-centric city,  and in this case the customers are the citizens.”

“Knoxville was selected as the home of HGTV so that the employees producing the shows could actually live the brand. Knoxville has emerged as one of the fastest-growing cities in the South. People outside the region know that this is a great place to live, work, and play.”
