Knoxville One of Best Cities for New College Grads

BusinessWeek magazine recently ranked Knoxville as a top city for new college graduates. The ranking is based on available job opportunities, pay rates, and cost of living. The magazine sites a diverse and stable economy among the reasons graduates should consider beginning a career in Knoxville.

"Knoxville is a terrific place for young professionals," says Mike Edwards, president & CEO of the Knoxville Chamber. "The Chamber works hard to attract college graduates to the region and helps graduates from area colleges and universities stay in Knoxville. These young professionals are important contributors to the vibrancy of our regional economy."

BusinessWeek noted that job listings for healthcare, sales, and logistics are among those found on AfterCollege.com, an employment website that was the source for the magazine's available job information. Trade, transportation, and utility sectors were also singled out as areas of growth in Knoxville's economy.

"Besides the assets and economic advantages mentioned by BusinessWeek, Knoxville has a revitalized downtown, an unparalleled natural setting, and fantastic recreational opportunities that appeal to young professionals," continues Edwards.
