Tennessee Scholars

2007 was our inaugural class with 260 students from 12 public and private high schools graduating as Tennessee Scholars. Their accomplishments were recognized at an awards ceremony where Knox County Mayor Mike Ragsdale congratulated the students and awarded door prizes from local businesses. The Chamber appreciates the businesses that donated these items which included laptop computers, gift certificates, gas cards and a digital camera. We hope to make 2008 an even better year and are working with the State Legislature to pass legislation that would grant additional scholarships to students graduating as Tennessee Scholars.
