(Knoxville, TN):  Local balloon artist, Dianna Glandon, CBA, is part of a nationwide 43-person team that is creating Chicago’s largest balloon entry for this year’s Chicago Pride Parade, the largest parade of its type in the world. Glandon, who is founder & president of Knoxville’s Above the Rest Balloon and Event Designs, is serving as on the team which is incorporating over 43,000 balloons into an impressive parade entry.   The float will span over a three-city block area during the parade that steps off on, Sunday, June 27.

Over 250 people will wear the vibrant, bright, & bold balloon designs to share the message that “Life is Sweet.” More than 1 million spectators will be lined up watching Chicago’s largest annual parade. According to Glandon, “As a team, we are working several hours a day to build each element of this exciting, interactive float!  The crowd’s response and excitement is unlike any other experience I’ve ever seen!  Every minute of work is completely worthwhile—from the “Firework Backpacks,” to the “Wacky Whirlers,” to the “Crazy Clusters, and the 20+ other designs we built, each are indeed crowd favorites.”

Additionally, the worldwide phenomenon with over 5 million Facebook views, “Conrad the Unicorn” will make his second appearance to once again entertain the crowd.  Conrad now has as family who is joining him on the parade route, along with some new surprise designs.  We can’t wait to see how the crowd responds.

By participating in the workshop “Parade, Promotions & Profits,” Glandon shared her advanced expertise in balloon and event design with others and well as learned a great deal from fellow professionals.  She is hoping to participate in upcoming parades in the Knoxville area to bring the same smiles to our residents!
