I’m a Member, How Do I Get Involved?
So, you’re a member. Now, how do you get the most of the membership? Here are five ways to get involved:
-
Attend Events. Chamber members enjoy many events throughout the year. Some of these events include: Business After Hours and a.m. Exchange networking events, Business & Technology Expo, Governor’s Luncheon, Pinnacle Business Awards, Power 30 Speed Networking, and Chamber U seminars.
- Meet the Partners. Chamber members gain priority access to the six partner organizations, which reside in the Chamber Partnership offices. These include the Central Business Improvement District, the Development Corporation of Knox County, the East Tennessee Television and Film Commission, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, and the US Department of Commerce Export Assistance Center.
- Meet the Neighbors. You are now part of a group of high-quality businesses and individuals. Meet them, network with them, and patronize them. These people and their businesses could be great resources for your business. The printed and online business directories are great ways to network with people in any business category.
- Join a Committee. Chamber members can make their voice heard on important topics by joining a committee. These include economic & community development, workforce & education, finance, government relations, membership, transportation, marketing, agribusiness, small business, manufacturing leadership, and military affairs.
- Become a Chamber Ambassador. Chamber Ambassadors are volunteers who learn about the Chamber and spread that knowledge to others. They may serve as networkers, who help staff events; welcomers, who greet and help involve new members; and navigators, who work with Chamber membership staff to build relationships with existing Chamber members.
