The UT Marketing Department offers a senior-level undergraduate course entitled MKT 456: Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) that is designed to provide student teams with the opportunity to develop integrated marketing communications plans for real-world organizations. UT would like to invite chamber members to participate.

The Knoxville Chamber was recognized by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) with a Membership Achievement Award for achieving a top ten placement in the over $1 million dues category.

In addition, Account Executive, Ashleigh Bean was recognized in the ACCE Circle of Champions in the Membership Development Division.

Econ South, the magazine of the southern region of the Federal Reserve, has published a profile on the Innovation Valley’s boatbuilding industry. The article cites the regions favorable climate, transportation assets and strong workforce as reasons for the industries growth and strength.

Knoxville-Oak Ridge Innovation Valley isn’t just high tech and hard work. It’s also about boating, camping, and celebrating the outdoors. Major TVA lakes and mild weather consistently put this corner of East Tennessee high in national quality of life polls.

In Area Development’s August issue, the magazine overviewed of several states, including Tennessee. In comments about Knoxville and the East Tennessee area, the magazine spoke very favorably about the boat manufacturing sector.

According to Expansion Management magazine, the Knoxville area is a technology hot spot. The article focuses on the Department of Energy, the Oak Ridge National Lab and the University of Tennessee as key assets to the region.
