The Educators in the Workplace program provides an opportunity for educators, school counselors, and training providers to meet with business people in the workplace setting for a two or more hour event. Members of various departments within the company provide information on the nature of the company’s business and workplace culture, and specifics on ways to connect what the students learn in the classroom with what is required in the workplace. Companies will offer a tour of the workplace and arrange for question and answer sessions with representatives from various departments.
Benefits of Participating
- Ensure that your business will be supported by a skilled future workforce.
- Promote awareness of career opportunities.
- Communicate the importance of aligning education with industry demands.
- Opportunity for fulfillment of corporate social responsibility program requirements.
Educators in the Workplace is a program that links Knox County educators with its business leaders. Each summer, several area businesses host educators for a program that includes a tour of their facilities, discussion about their day-to-day business operations, and insight into the workplace culture, all while allowing our teachers to earn in-service credit!*
The intent of the program is to help educators find ways to link what they teach in the classroom to real-world applications, so they can keep their students engaged and excited about what they are learning.
