President Obama’s Speech to America’s School Children
On Tuesday, September 8, 2009 President Obama spoke with a group of Students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. This speech was also broadcasted live on www.WhiteHouse.gov and C-SPAN. President Obama spoke about responsibility: the responsibility of our teachers, the students’ parents, and the government to ensure that our students are receiving a quality education. The main focus of his speech was the students’ responsibilities, to themselves, their communities and their country to put in the effort necessary to take advantage of the opportunities being provided to them.
