Y-12 to host Suppliers’ Outreach Forum
Oak Ridge’s Y-12 National Security Complex will host the Uranium Processing Facility Suppliers’ Outreach Forum March 9-10, 2010.
The 2-day forum will provide an opportunity for suppliers to learn about current and upcoming UPF proposals and procurement needs, project and security requirements, and guidelines for doing business with Y-12.
UPF will replace the nation’s existing enriched uranium processing facilities, built at the Y-12 National Security Complex during the World War II Manhattan Project. The projected cost of constructing UPF is between $1.4 to $3.5 billion.
Construction and equipment suppliers who are interested in providing products and services to Y-12’s UPF project are encouraged to attend. Needed services include stainless steel fabrication, metal fabrication and rebar fabrication. Needed products include machining tools, piping, instrumentation and controls, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, cables, electrical components, rental equipment, and chemical processing equipment.
There is no fee for this event, but registration is required. You must be a U.S. citizen to attend.
